Purpose of role:
Manage the HR function in store, working in partnership with the Store Manager and management team to contribute to the effective operation of the store
Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment – Responsible for the end to end recruitment process for retail operatives and supervisors in accordance with company standards

· Authorise recruitment for Retail Operatives, Supervisors and Trainee Managers
· Overall responsibility for advertising and filling vacancies both internally and externally
· Conduct and oversee the interview process to ensure compliance with employment legislation
· Ensure all interviewers have been trained in recruitment and selection procedures and equal opportunities legislation
· Manage the succession plan for Supervisors and Trainee Managers
· Forge relationships with local schools, colleges and universities
· Accountable for the retention of staff through effective HR management

Training – Implement a learning culture within the store by role modelling self development

· Responsible for the management and development of the HR team in store. Provide coaching, feedback and appraisals to improve work
· Ensure all relevant training functions are carried out including training needs analysis, induction training and updating training records for retail operatives and management
· In conjunction with the Store Manager, ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, in particular sales procedures, refund procedures and Timepoint audit trail report
· Identify the need and create development tools for Line Management in conjunction with the Management Development Executive
· Support and deliver training to the Management Team on Human Resources, in particular, legislative requirements and company grievance and disciplinary procedures and provide support where such matters arise

People – Recruiting, leading and motivating team to achieve company standards

· Optimise staff morale and promote a positive work environment whilst ensuring staff are fully aware of company policies
· Monitor performance management and achievement of goals of Management Team and Floor Staff through effective line management
· Ensure Employee Probationary reviews are conducted by Line Management and appropriate action taken accordingly
· Plan, review and maintain staff deployment with the Store Manager
· Coordinate daily plans for staff coverage and rotas

Operating Standards – Consistently deliver against company expectations and policy on staffing, budgets and pay

· Ensure all staff and management are aware of systems in place to maintain operational standards in line with the Store Operations Manual and other procedural guidelines

· Ensure compliance to Employment Legislation such as Right to Work, Contracts of Employment and Equal Opportunities
· In conjunction with the Store Manager, ensure effective use of wage budget
· Ensure all daily, weekly and period Payroll and Time and Attendance functions are carried out in line with company policy and procedures
· Ensure all absence information is up to date and reports are generated weekly
· Monitor time keeping and absence compiling statistics for management and staff
· Ensure all records and files are kept up to date
· Ensure company reference procedure is adhered to for all new employees
· Accountable for ensuring that all Personnel File documentation is completed and up to date and the electronic tracker system is maintained
· Ensure up to date Competitor Awareness is maintained on compensation and Benefits
· Manage disciplinary and grievance procedures by coaching and supporting managers

Environment, Health & Safety – Responsibility for ensuring H&S standards are adhered to

· Maintain an up to date understanding of company guidelines and relevant legislation to produce a safe working environment for all
· Ensure that Health and Safety training is conducted on a regular basis and in accordance with the requirements of the law
· Ensure trained first aiders are in the store and appropriate courses are taken and qualifications kept up to date
· Ensure all Store Management are trained in security procedures and checks are conducted on a daily basis

Security – Preventing company property loss, theft or abuse

· Responsibility for holding store keys and being available for emergency callouts
· Direct management team to ensure staff are fully aware of company policies regarding security
· Enforce company procedures on staff searches
· Implement the relevant company systems and procedures to ensure that stock loss is within company limits

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
· 3 years retail experience in a sales/service or supervisory capacity
· 2 years HR/Personnel experience in fast moving organisation
· 2 year experience in recruitment
· Qualified to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Mathematics & English
· CIPD qualified
