We now have an opportunity to become a key part of our Resource Management team as a Resource Manager supporting our Tax practice. You’ll play a key business role, providing strategic resourcing business insights and supporting our Tax practice by helping shape and implement the organisations strategy around agility and mobility of our people, and will help provide operational excellence by: • identifying resourcing opportunities within Tax and across PwC and filling them • increasing the profile of secondments and cycles of experience to Tax staff • improving agility by utilising people in our growth areas • supporting the organisations people agenda around Talent Management
Please note this opportunity is NOT an in-house recruitment role. The terms ‘recruitment’ and ‘resourcing’ are often used interchangeably however resourcing at PwC refers to aspects such as workforce planning, scheduling, deployment, talent management, etc. Responsibilities
• Make sure the business needs are delivered in an efficient manner at all times by optimising the allocation of work and deployment of staff to maximise profitability in conjunction with personal development plans and individuals’ wellbeing • Demonstrate good knowledge of the business and be proactive in relation to the supply and demand challenges of the business ie busy periods, recurring business etc. • Produce accurate and commercially focussed Management Information (MI) for your business unit/resource management function identifying trends/key risks • Engage with the industry, network and relationship managers (if applicable) to understand their priorities • Support the senior Resource Manager/Team Leader with recruitment interviews and inducting new staff • Work in close partnership with other key functions is Finance/Human Capital/Business Development • Engage and promote the use of key resourcing systems to enable effective resourcing • Engage in resource management projects aligned to the resourcing vision • Share knowledge/best practise and network with your colleagues across the business • Be the people manager for team members including induction, coaching, career development advice, succession planning and having responsibility for interim and year end performance reviews Requirements • Experience of working within a Resourcing (workforce planning / scheduling / etc), Operations, Project Management, Recruitment or similar role at Manager level • Experience of managing and developing teams • Professional, confident and open minded • Strong ability to liaise, influence and challenge effectively • Excellent relationship building skills with all levels of staff • Commercial and risk minded with good operational business acumen • Trusted advisor who provides balanced, pragmatic advice around manpower planning and resource management to the business • Strategic and pragmatic analytical skills • Excellent attention to detail • Proactive with a positive, flexible, assertive, ‘can do’ attitude • Ability to work with tight deadlines in a fast changing environment • Good problem solver and decision maker • Effective team player with an ability to develop personal networks through strong interpersonal skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent IT skills – e.g. Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), manpower planning systems (e.g. Retain) • Excellent project management and organisational skills • Experience of conflict resolution, with the ability to manage complex conflicts between numerous parties
