Who we’re looking forPwC are looking to recruit a Resource Management/Strategic Workforce Planning and Deployment Manager to play a key role within our Midlands Assurance business unit. Midlands Assurance comprises of Core Assurance, Public Sector, Financial Services and Risk Assurance and covers 3 offices in Birmingham, Milton Keynes and East Midlands. Reporting directly to the Midlands Assurance Lead Resource Manager, you’ll support the Core Assurance groups within the Midlands Assurance business unit, working with the leadership team to deliver their growth and profitability targets. You’ll play an important role in supporting the implementation and delivery of Resource Management services to make sure operational excellence is delivered and will work with the business and Resource Management function to support the firm’s strategy around the agility and mobility of our people, including Talent Management. This role is based in Birmingham but will include regular travel to Milton Keynes and East Midlands and ad hoc travel to London. What will the role offer me? ?Make sure the business needs are delivered in an efficient manner at all times by optimising the allocation of work and deployment of staff to maximise profitability in conjunction with personal development plans and individual wellbeing
?Manage the team of Resource Officers and Planner to make sure client needs are delivered in an efficient manner at all times by optimising headcount, manage/oversee joiners, leavers and secondments, increasing utilisation and being aware of the impact on employee engagement
?Develop your team to make sure best practices are applied and optimisation of the tools and techniques are used
?Demonstrate good knowledge of the business and be proactive in relation to the supply and demand challenges of the business – i.e. busy periods, recurring business, etc.
?Produce accurate and commercially focussed Management Information for your Business Unit / Resource Management function, identifying trends/key risks
?Be prepared to challenge the Business Unit protocols if impacting resourcing – e.g. completion of timesheets, accuracy of codes, etc.
?Support the business by delivering the manpower and resourcing plan by having a deep understanding of the Business Unit growth plans and headcount required to support these
?Engage with the Industry/Network Relationship Managers (if applicable) to understand their priorities
?Support with recruitment interviews and inducting new staff to the Midlands Resourcing team
?Work in close partnership with other key functions – e.g. Finance / Human Capital / Business Development
?Proactively advise and guide People Managers as regards to their role and responsibilities in Resource Management processes to enable a good quality interaction with their staff
?Engage and promote the use of key resourcing systems including Finder, Retain and the Career Opportunities website to enable effective resourcing
?Be prepared to engage in Resource Management projects aligned to the resourcing vision
?Share knowledge / best practice and network with your line of service colleagues and colleagues across the Resource Management function

?Demonstrate knowledge of the organisations risk management policies and procedures

Requirements

?Experience of working in a Resource Management / Strategic Workforce Planning / operations / project management / recruitment or similar role, at Manager level or above – ideally within a large professional / corporate organisation
?Line Management, coaching and development of people experience
?Professional, confident and open minded team player
?Commercial and risk minded with good operational business acumen
?Trusted advisor who provides balanced, pragmatic advice around manpower planning and resource management to the business
?Logical with strategic and pragmatic analytical skills and attention to detail

?Experience of conflict resolution, with the ability to manage complex conflicts between numerous parties
