Interim Head of Talent – FMCG 3-6 month FTC

Location: Middlesex, West London

Salary: £60-70,000 + great benefits

We have an exciting 3-6 month contract to work with a leading FMCG business going through a major change programme.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, delivering and monitoring Talent Management programs and initiatives that can be rolled out groupwide and for supporting and partnering with Executive leaders. This individual will be required to partner with business leaders, Client Facing HR and colleagues in UK functions as required.

Develops diversity support

Ensures mechanisms are in place to aid employee retention and career development

Manages coaching and change management initiatives

Works with Talent Acquisition on workforce planning.

Develops organisational development interventions

Set the strategic vision and operational goals for the global Talent/Performance Management system including annual processes, communciations, training and measurement. Work in partnership with vendors to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing evolution of technology to support global needs as appropriate.

Provide strategic consultation, advice and support on leveraging talent management resources and employee talent management programs including goals, executive development and coaching 360 feedback, career and individual development training.

Lead the planning and execution of SMG’s executive talent review process including coordination of pre-work and post-review analysis, identification of key insights/trends, monitoring/supporting action plans, and follow-on support to business unit leaders, HR leaders and other stakeholders.

Develop and maintain database of talent information, coordinate with management teams, participate in key talent review meetings, and oversee strategies to accelerate development of key talent and successor candidates.

Oversee implementation and management of talent development solutions such as executive coaching, group task forces mentorship, etc.

Support local diversity/inclusion teams by identifying talent for various nomination programs.

Work in partnership with multiple regional L&D leads to ensure group consistency and scaling of best practices where appropriate.

Establish and sustain high quality partnerships with external vendors and collaborates with internal colleagues to deliver high quality L&D with a goal of deepening internal talent.

Oversee employee engagement strategy and execution of global culture survey in partnership with external vendor. Identify and assess engagement needs based on survey data and consult with leaders on engagement solutions.

Serves as key participant in creating, planning, and implementing strategic initiatives to increase employee engagement and drive SMG culture. Facilitate action planning and follow up activities as needed.

Partner with business leaders to help strengthen the overall work environment and to ensure decisions affecting employees are based on data in alignment with our strategic goals.

The person:

Degree educated or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to operate in an evolving structure and be able to work across boundaries seamlessly. They need to be able to develop holistic solutions that include defined goals, processes, metrics, communication plans and delivery methodology with defined handoffs.

Demonstrable experience in Executive Development, Organisational Development, Talent Management.

Excellent strategic and operational skills – must be able to work closely and collaboratively with global HR leaders, senior management, business executives and leaders at all levels within the company to address complex, interdependent issues, needs and priorities.

Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate in a matrixed FMCG business. Excellent facilitation, consulting, communication and influencing skills across organisational levels and geographies.

Experience extracting, interpreting and packaging qualitative and quantitative data for a variety of audiences

Experience in development and delivery of TM programs & solutions group wide

Business acumen with ability to link programs and solutions to business strategy & objectives

Experience in a training/talent & learning environment, understanding of delivery of learning interventions, talent initiatives, and progress

Proven team and cross-functional relationship management and influencing skills

Ability to position the function as leaders in best practice

Exceptional ability to lead through influence

Strong planning & organisational skills with ability to prioritise duties and responsibilities

Excellent communication skills – written & verbal

Self-starter, proactive contributor with high level of motivation for team growth and development

Quality conscious – high attention to detail, methodical and fiscally prudent

Ability to work under tight deadlines

Track record of successful delivery of major projects
